HE Khalid bin Abdulaziz Al-Falih, Minister of Investment, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

His Excellency Khalid A. Al-Falih has been Minister of Investment of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia since 25 February 2020. He previously served as Minister of Energy, Industry and Mineral Resources from May 2016 to September 2019, as Minister of Health from April 2015 to May 2016, and as Chairman of the Saudi Arabian Oil Company (Saudi Aramco) Board of Directors from April 2015 to September 2019. Prior to his appointment as Chairman, HE Al-Falih also held key leadership positons across the company, including President and Chief Executve Officer from January 2009 to May 2015.

Poppy Gustafsson CBE, Minister for Investment, United Kingdom

Baroness Gustafsson of Chesterton CBE was appointed Minister of State (Minister for Investment) jointly in the Department for Business and Trade and HM Treasury on 10 October 2024.Prior to entering government, Baroness Gustafsson was part of the team who founded Darktrace in 2013 and brought its AI-powered cybersecurity solutions to market. Under her leadership, Darktrace experienced significant growth and global expansion leading to the company being listed on the London Stock Exchange in 2021, before being sold for over £4 billion.Baroness Gustafsson is a chartered accountant and was honoured with a CBE for services to cybersecurity in 2025.

Bandr Alhomaly, CFA, CEO and Board Member at Jada Fund of Funds

Bandr Alhomaly has extensive financial and capital markets experience in both the public and private sectors. He is the Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Jada Fund of Funds. Alhomaly concurrently serves as a Chairman of the Board Risk Committee at SNB Capital, a Board Member and Board Investment Committee Member at Jada Fund of Funds, and a Board Member at the Saudi Venture Capital and Private Equity Association.Mr Alhomaly previously held several leadership roles internationally and locally, including Alternate Executive Director and member of the Executive Board of the International Monetary Fund (IMF); G20 Policy Lead in the Finance Track; Head of Delegation for Saudi Arabia at the G20 International Financial Architecture Working Group and member of the executive leadership of the Saudi Capital Market Authority (CMA), where he held several positions during his tenure such as General Director of Risk Management.Mr Alhomaly is a CFA Charter holder. He holds an MBA degree from Cardiff University in the UK, and a Bachelor of Finance degree from King Saud University. He is an alumnus of the Corporate Finance Module from London Business School and has obtained several executive education degrees in finance and capital markets from various institutions, including Harvard Business School and the MIT Sloan.Mr Alhomaly was awarded the King Abdulaziz Medal in 2021 from the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz for his service to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Simon Barnes

Simon Barnes, Group Managing Director (Air), BAE Systems

Simon joined BAE Systems in 2001 and has held a number of senior programme leadership and business development roles throughout a 26-year career in the defence industry, spanning the UK, Europe and the Middle East. Most recently, Simon was the Managing Director of BAE Systems Saudi Arabia. Simon is Chairman of MBDA Missile Systems, Europe’s largest manufacturer of guided weapons. Simon began his career as an engineering apprentice. He holds an MSc in Financial Management and an MBA from the University of Manchester. He is an alumni of Harvard Business School’s Advance Management Programme, a Chartered Project Manager and a Fellow of both the CMI and Royal Aeronautical Society.

Ed Byrne

Sir Edward Byrne AC, President, KAUST

Sir Edward Byrne AC is the fourth President of King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST). He joined KAUST as its president in September 2024, after serving as President and Principal of King’s College London from August 2014 to January 2021. Previously, he was President and Vice Chancellor of Monash University in Australia. Knighted by Queen Elizabeth II in 2020 for services to higher education he has also been recognized for his contributions to mitochondrial disease research, Byrne was appointed an Officer of the Order of Australia in 2006. He served as Dean of Monash University, then as Vice Provost of University College London, before returning to Monash as Vice Chancellor in 2009. There, he restructured the university to enhance interdisciplinary collaboration and global research output, leading to the establishment of the Monash campus in Suzhou, China. In 2014, Byrne served as a guest professor at Peking University Health Science Center, becoming an honorary citizen of Jiangsu Province. That same year, he was recognized as a Companion of the Order of Australia for eminent service to tertiary education. He was also appointed President and Principal of King’s College London.From 2019 to 2021, he was Chair of Council for the Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU). Byrne served as Global Chief Medical Advisor for the Ramsay Health Care Group from 2021 to 2024.He studied medicine at the University of Tasmania, graduating with a Bachelor of Medical Science in 1971, a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery, with the highest honors, in 1974, and a Doctor of Medicine in 1982. Byrne holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Queensland, a Clinical Science Diploma from the University of Adelaide, and a Doctor of Science from the University of Melbourne. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians, the Royal Colleges of Physicians of London and Edinburgh, the American Academy of Neurology, and the American Association of Neurology. He has received numerous honorary degrees and accolades, including the Queens Square Prize for Neurological Research from the UCL Institute of Neurology. From 2021 to 2024, Byrne served as Distinguished Vice-Chancellor’s Fellow at the Australian National University (ANU). He is Emeritus Professor of Neurology, King’s College London, and Emeritus Professor of Medicine, Monash University.In addition to his academic and medical research roles, Byrne has held board positions at multiple commercial biomedical companies, including Cochlear and BUPA. He currently serves as the global chief medical officer of Ramsay Health Care Group and is a member of the Patrons Council for the Epilepsy Foundation of Victoria.

Rt Hon The Lord Hammond of Runnymede

Lord Hammond has had a distinguished career in British politics as a Member of Parliament from 1997 to 2019. He held a range of Senior cabinet posts, most recently serving as Chancellor of the Exchequer from 2016 to 2019. Prior to this, he served as Foreign Secretary (2014-2016), Defence Secretary (2011- 2014) and Transport Secretary (2010-2011). He was awarded a life peerage by Her Late Majesty The Queen in July 2020.Prior to entering the Government in 2010, Lord Hammond has a diverse business career in manufacturing, consultancy and real estate development.Lord Hammond now pursues a portfolio career mostly comprised of directorships and advisory roles in business, but also advises the Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Economy and Planning of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Ministry of Finance and National Economy of the Kingdom of Bahrain.

Christine Hockley, Managing Director & Co-Head of Funds, British Business Bank

Christine Hockley is the Managing Director and Co-Head of Funds at the British Business Bank, where she leads the design and delivery of the Bank’s equity investment programmes. These include the Enterprise Capital Funds programme, the Life Sciences Investment Programme, and the Patient Capital Funds, which support early to growth-stage venture capital funds across the UK.Christine joined the British Business Bank in 2018, bringing extensive experience in venture capital and private equity fund investing. Prior to her current role, she spent four years investing in venture capital funds via the VC Catalyst and Enterprise Capital Fund programmes and led a pilot programme in the lower mid private equity market for British Business Investments, a subsidiary of the Bank.Her career spans investment, corporate finance, and commercial roles, having previously worked at the Bank of Scotland, PwC, and BOC Industrial Gases.

Daniel South, Senior Director, ROSHN Group

Daniel South is the Sales Senior Director, Project Management Office at ROSHN Group, Saudi Arabia’s leading national real estate developer and PIF-owned giga-project. Daniel’s responsibilities include the planning and execution of multiple community launches across the Kingdom, in addition to monitoring and reporting on current live projects.Through his work Daniel interacts closely with the wide number of stakeholders involved in the successful planning, development and selling of these new communities. He is dedicated to fostering awareness and innovation for ideas relating to the living communities and the sustainable improvements that can be achieved. Susan Amawi, General Manager Saudi Arabia, Knight Frank

Susan Amawi is the General Manager of Knight Frank Saudi Arabia, bringing over 20 years of experience in the real estate sector, including 18 years in the Kingdom. She holds an MBA in Corporate Finance (2005) and a BBA in Marketing and International Business (2003) from Wichita State University. In 2021, she completed the Women’s Leadership Program at Yale Executive Education, further enhancing her leadership skills.Prior to joining Knight Frank, Susan held a number of senior regional roles, including Head of Strategic Consulting at JLL in Saudi Arabia and Head of Real Estate Consulting at KPMG.Throughout her career, Susan has advised on multi-billion Riyal real estate projects across Saudi Arabia, conducting feasibility studies, highest and best-use analyses, and strategic business planning for both public and private sectors.Major projects under her leadership include Jeddah Central Development, Knowledge Economic City in Madinah, Project Clay, Qiddiya Coast, and various Roshn projects in Riyadh, Jeddah, and Makkah, including Ruaa Al Madinah, Roshn Sedra, and Ruaa Al Haram.

Nicholas King, Group Chief Development Officer, Red Sea Global

Nicholas King is the Group Chief Development Officer of Red Sea Global (RSG), the developer behind The Red Sea and Amaala, two ambitious tourism projects set along the northwestern coast of Saudi Arabia. These destinations will play key roles in the realisation of Vision 2030, the Kingdom’s economic roadmap for the future. Nicholas joined the organisation in September 2020, bringing with him more than three decades of experience in successful International real estate development.Prior to joining RSG, Nick was principal of SunCal, one of the largest private land developers in the United States. In that role he led urban development activity, as well as having a guiding hand across all projects including land developments on both coasts ranging from 2,000 to 55,000 acres. Nick had direct responsibility for the acquisition and development of numerous award-winning projects including, most recently, a three million square foot mixed-use development in the Arts District of Los Angeles designed by Herzog & De Meuron.Before SunCal, Nick operated throughout the Asia Pacific region, developing and investing in luxury residential, integrated resort, and complex mixed-use urban projects, both through his own business as well as in a leadership capacity for organisations such as ING Real Estate, Shell Real Estate and Hillwood Asia. He received his Master’s Degree in Urban Design, specialising in Real Estate Development, from Harvard University. He was awarded an MBA from the University of Chicago and completed the Global Leadership Program at IMD in Lausanne.

Abdullah AlHussaini, Head, Strategy & Engagement, National Development Division, PIF

Abdullah Alhussaini is the Head of Strategy and Planning Department in National Development Division at PIF, a position he has held since 2019.He played a key role in establishing the National Development Division at PIF and in formulating its strategy. In his current role, he oversees efforts to enable and enhance private sector participation in PIF’s initiatives and across its ecosystem.Alhussaini contributed to the design and launch of the Private Sector Partnership Program (Shareek), the “Private Sector Hub,” and the “PIF-Private Sector Forum,” which aims to promote transparency and engagement between PIF and its ecosystem and the private sector. He has also participated in the development of several national strategies related to national development, including localisation and investment strategies.In addition to his role at PIF, Alhussaini serves on several government committees focused on fostering partnerships with the private sector and attracting local and international investments to Saudi Arabia.Alhussaini has over 18 years of experience in both the public and private sectors. He began his career in supply chain management at Saudi Aramco before moving into the company’s management consulting division, where he worked on a wide range of projects spanning production, refining, heavy equipment and transport, aviation, and security. He later joined Kearney Middle East, where he led and supported various projects across the Middle East and Europe in sectors including logistics, industrial, and defence.He holds an MBA from IESE Business School, University of Navarra in Spain, and a bachelor’s degree in computer science and economics from the University of North Carolina, USA. He also completed a certification in Supply Chain Management from the University of Pennsylvania, USA.

Douglas Hansen-Luke Executive Chairman, Future Planet Capital

Douglas Hansen-Luke is the Executive Chairman of Future Planet Capital. After two years of research he founded the firm in 2015, following an extensive career in global finance and as an entrepreneur in Hong Kong, London and the Middle East.He has worked in a series of senior broking, investment and asset management roles for firms including ABN AMRO and Robeco, with a focus on emerging markets and asset classes. He was also co-founder of Hong Kong’s first regulated online equity research firm. Alongside this, Douglas worked as an occasional freelance reporter and photographer, spending short periods of time in Afghanistan and China for the Associated Press.Douglas began his career as a management consultant at Bain & Company, with a focus on technology and consumer goods, before moving to Salomon Brothers, where he specialised in emerging market equities. Dr. Valerie Vaughan-Dick, Chief Executive, RIBA

Dr Valerie Vaughan-Dick MBE has worked at a senior level in the public, private and voluntary sectors. Valerie is presently the Chief Executive of the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA). RIBA is a global professional membership body driving excellence in architecture. RIBA serves more than 58,000 members and society to deliver better buildings and places, stronger communities, and a sustainable environment. Being inclusive, ethical, environmentally aware and collaborative underpins all RIBA does. Valerie started her career with the UK National Audit Office where she qualified as an accountant. She has extensive experience in the built environment. Valerie has been a Managing Director of a housing association, advised on Public Finance Initiative building projects and has considerable international experience. She has been a Chair of a heritage properties regeneration organisation, Chair of a NHS Trust and is presently the Chair of a Housing Association which manages 8,000 homes in London. Valerie was named one of the 50 most influential women in Architecture and Design by ‘Dezeen’ Magazine in March 2024.

Najlaa Habriri, Foreign Affairs Senior Editor, Asharq Al-Awsat

Najlaa Habriri is a Journalist and Foreign Affairs Senior Editor with Asharq Al-Awsat. From covering the war in Ukraine, the migration crisis in the Mediterranean, to successive International Economic Forums in Davos, and Annual G20 meetings, Najlaa brings extensive experience in global geopolitics and international economy to her role. Since obtaining her MSc in International Political Economy from the London School of Economics, Najlaa worked as a journalist in both the Business and Politics Departments at Asharq Al-Awsat, and launched the publication’s first morning brief newsletter. In her role as editor of international affairs, Najlaa has interviewed world leading decision-makers, including White House Advisors and Envoys, Foreign and Economy Ministers and UN Representatives. Jay Randhawa, Partner, CMS

Jay is a Partner in the CMS Infrastructure, Construction and Energy Disputes practice and is a leading advisor to construction companies operating in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the wider GCC region.Recognised as a ‘Future Leader’ and ‘Global Elite Thought leader – Under 45’ by Who’s Who Legal (Construction & Arbitration) and a ‘Rising Star’ by Legal 500, Jay is dual-qualified and has a depth of international experience, having worked in the Middle East, England, Australia and South-East Asia advising on complex disputes in the construction, engineering, infrastructure and energy sectors, including both commercial and public international law matters. Tom Attenborough, Head of International Primary Market, LSE

Tom joined London Stock Exchange in September 2013 and has since 2017 led the London Stock Exchange’s International Primary Markets business. In his role, Tom advises UK and international companies and their owners on the process of raising capital and listing on London’s markets. Prior to joining London Stock Exchange, Tom was at Citigroup for over 15 years as a Managing Director in the Equity Capital Markets division, originating, structuring and executing equity and equity-linked transactions across UK, Europe, Middle East and Africa. He has originated, structured and executed large number of IPOs and follow-on capital raisings over the years, including many involving a London listing. Prior to Citi, Tom worked in Kleinwort Benson’s Equity Capital Markets team from 1994 to 1997.Tom graduated from Oxford University with a BA (Hons) degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics.

Andrew Elder

Andrew Elder, Deputy Managing Partner, AlbionVC

Andrew is Deputy Managing Partner at AlbionVC, a UK-focused venture capital investor managing approximately £1bn. A former neurosurgeon, he focuses on medical technologies and technology-enabled services to the healthcare and life-science sectors. He also oversees management of AlbionVC's university investment strategy, including the UCL Technology Funds. He has invested in sectors ranging from digital health, diagnostics and imaging, machine learning applications and therapeutics, including cell and gene therapies. He serves on the investment committees of AlbionVC and the British Business Bank (direct investments) and is a Trustee of HDR UK (the national institute for health data science). Prior to joining AlbionVC he specialised in healthcare strategy at the Boston Consulting Group (BCG). He holds degrees in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Cambridge and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons.

Marcus Siddons, CEO, Baker Wilkins & Smith

Marcus Siddons is a construction industry expert with experience gained in the United Kingdom, United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia. He spent 10 years in the UAE managing multiple businesses for a major international Plc. Baker Wilkins & Smith (BWS) is a boutique international firm of construction consultants, core services being quantity surveying and project management. Established in London in 1955 and in the Middle East from 1972. Well known and well established in Saudi Arabia BWS is currently working on Alula, NEOM, ROSHN and a variety of other major projects in the Kingdom.

Kendall Bailey is a seasoned executive with a distinguished career spanning management consulting, education technology, and venture capital. She holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a master’s degree from the Harvard Kennedy School of Government.Kendall began her career with a decade at Bain & Company, where she specialized in strategy, operations, and private equity due diligence. She later transitioned into the education sector, where she led a multi-year, $80 million transformation of the College Board’s Advanced Placement program, driving digital innovation to better support students and educators. Chris joined Federated Hermes in 2010 having previously spent most of his career as a Fund Manager at Prudential. Under his leadership, the Real Estate business has executed landmark transactions, including Europe’s largest regeneration project at the 67 acres King’s Cross, Europe’s largest life science facility at Milton-Oxford, the Silverstone High Performance Technology Estate, and city centre major regenerations at Paradise Circus Birmingham, NOMA-Manchester, Wellington Place- Leeds and Central Milton Keynes. Chris is Chairman of MEPC, BTPS Director on King’s Cross Board, and a key advocate for the role the built environment can play as a conduit for both enhancing productivity and delivering positive societal and environmental externalities.
