SBJBC hosted its ‘Doing Business in Saudi Arabia’ Workshop on 17 July 2019 at 23 Grafton Street, London W1S 4EY.
An introductory presentation was given by SAGIA’s new UK lead: Abdulaziz H. Alghifaili, that looked at the long term strategy of the Kingdom and how UK plc could be a part of it.
SBJBC UK’s AGM was kindly hosted by Trowers & Hamlin at 1600 on 10 July 2019. It was an opportunity to discuss SBJBC’s recent events and future activities.
The 2019 Summit organised by SBJBC member PPP Experts explored the best ways of structuring the financing of Public-Private Partnership projects, focusing on legal frameworks, working with foreign capital, benchmarking against international PPP models and international experiences.
This year the DIT-Aramco Forum was a part of the Energy Exports Conference, taking place in Aberdeen during the 18th and 19th June. Experts from Aramco presented the supply and investment opportunities as well as discussing the IKTVA programme.
The City Week is the premier gathering of the international financial services community, of which SBJBC was a supporting partner.
British Expertise International – Middle East Access Group & Saudi British Joint Business Council hosted a Business Briefing on Tuesday 14 May that discussed the potential opportunities for British business in the renewables sector in Saudi Arabia. It followed DIT & SBJBC’s Renewable Energy Trade Mission to Riyadh in March.
SBJBC hosted its biannual meeting in London on 1 May at DLA Piper’s offices; this event was well attended by 40 UK and Saudi SBJBC members as well as a number of guests.
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is gearing up to deliver Vision 2030 and invest significant sums in developing new world class destinations and cultural attractions. Ambitious developments for future living like Qiddiya ‘Entertainment City’ near Riyadh, the Red Sea Island development and Al-Ula near Madinah, are huge in scale and a positive indication of KSA’s aspirations.
SBJBC in partnership with the Department for International Trade organised a renewable energy trade mission to Riyadh 18-20 March.
A delegation from the Saudi National Centre for Privatisation & PPP (NCP) visited London in the week beginning 25 February to update interested companies on the progress of Saudi Arabia’s privatisation programme and discuss opportunities for cooperation and investment.
