Baroness Symons chaired a meeting of some 30 UK members and FCO/DIT representatives on 12 November.
The meeting included a review of the Future Investment Initiative in Riyadh, and updates on the Private Sector Groups and SBJBC’s dialogue with SAGIA on business environment reform. A discussion followed on how government and business can work more effectively together to access Saudi opportunities in the context of Vision 2030 and Saudi Arabia’s G20 Presidency.
HRH Prince Khalid bin Bandar Al Saud, Saudi Ambassador to the UK, joined the meeting to brief members on Vision 2030 and G20 priorities, and answer questions on Saudi-UK business relations. Feedback from members has been positive and SBJBC will be following up a number of specific points with UK and Saudi officials.
