SBJBC invites members to join a 45-minute briefing on the evolving situation in the Gulf, focusing on Saudi Arabia in the context of the ongoing U.S. – Iran conflict.
Recent developments in the region have prompted understandable questions from businesses operating in or working with Saudi Arabia. This webinar will provide members with an update on the current environment and a broader geopolitical perspective on the evolving situation.
The session will open with welcome remarks from Cordelia Begbie, CEO of SBJBC. Spencer Mahony, HM Deputy Trade Commissioner for the Middle East and Pakistan at the UK Department for Business and Trade (DBT), will share perspectives on the regional business environment and the UK government’s engagement with the market. Laurent Ruseckas, Executive Director for Research & Analysis at S&P Global Energy, will provide insight into the energy and market context, before the session concludes with a geopolitical overview from Nicholas Hopton, former UK Ambassador to Iran and CEO of the Middle East Association.
SBJBC will also reinforce the importance of a measured, long-term perspective on Saudi Arabia as a strategic market, while encouraging companies to refer to official guidance from the FCDO and the Embassy where appropriate.
The session will conclude with an opportunity for participants to ask questions.
