David Portas

David Portas is the Managing Partner of Portas Consulting the global strategy consultancy delivering independent advice and complete solutions to senior executives in sport and physical activity.

He has served Governments around the world, Olympic bids and organising committees, major national and international sports organisations and leaders of multinational corporations over the past 25 years. David has been an advisor to senior Saudi sports leaders for over 5 years and has led projects for the Ministry of Sport, Olympic Committee, Sport for All as well as many sports Federations, Giga projects, Fitness chains and Corporates.

Previously he was a Partner in McKinsey & Co.’s London Office (1994-2006) where he worked initially in the Energy sector before leading the Sports practice activities on projects including the London 2012 Olympic bid. Prior to that he was a Geoscientist with BP.
