Fatima Whitbread MBE is a world javelin champion, former world record holder, and twice Olympic medallist. She made history with her outstanding athletic career, earning multiple medals on the world stage and becoming one of Britain’s most celebrated sportswomen. In recognition of her resilience and achievements, she was honoured with the Helen Rollason Award at the BBC Sports Personality of the Year 2023, celebrating her exceptional spirit in overcoming adversity.After retiring from competitive sport, Fatima dedicated herself to nurturing the next generation of athletes, coaching elite runners and serving as a qualified javelin coach. She also transitioned into a successful media career, appearing on popular television programmes such as I’m a Celebrity, Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins, and Pilgrimage: The Road to Istanbul, sharing her story and inspiring audiences nationwide.Beyond sport, Fatima is deeply committed to social impact through her founding of Fatima’s UK Campaign.
