Some 70 Saudi and UK delegates participated in SBJBC’s roundtable with a high level GACA delegation in London on 6 September.
Baroness Symons welcomed HE Mr Abdulhakim Altamimi, President of GACA, and noted the great improvements in airport services as a result of recent reforms. Delegates received updates on GACA’s ambitious plans to increase private sector participation in Saudi airport development, operation and service provision and resulting partnership opportunities. They also heard about the imminent opening of Jeddah’s impressive new King Abdulaziz Airport, and opportunities for retail brands and other service providers.
With 27 airports and 91 million passengers per year, GACA is keen to work with more UK advisers and service providers as it moves from the status of an operator to a regulator.
