17 October: IMF Briefing on Saudi Economy, 23 Grafton
SBJBC and BEI are hosting a briefing by Tim Callen, Assistant Director in the IMF’s Middle East and Central Asia Department, and the IMF’s mission chief for Saudi Arabia and the GCC countries at 0900 for an 0930 start on 17 November. Tim has kindly agreed to give an informal briefing to BEI and SBJBC members on the latest IMF report on the Saudi economy, and answer questions on the economic situation and the progress of recent reforms.
The event is free of charge to SBJBC and BEI members. Non-members will be charged £50 plus VAT if places are available. Please email Oliver Grogono to register your attendance.

18 October: BCC International Trade Summit, London
The British Chambers of Commerce has offered our members a number of tickets to the International Trade Summit, in London, 18 October 2018. These free tickets will be allocated on a first come first served basis.

23-25 October: PIF Future Investment Initiative, Riyadh
PIF has announced the second Future Investment Initiative (FII), which will take place from October 23rd to 25th in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
The second edition aims to continue building active, global networks of influential actors to further explore the emerging industries that will shape the global economy and investment environment over the coming decades. For more information please click here.
18-21 November: UK Technology & Smart Cities Delegation to Saudi Arabia
SBJBC will be leading a UK Technology & Smart Cities Delegation to Saudi Arabia from 18-21 November with support from the Department of International Trade (DIT) and the Saudi Arabian General Investment Authority (SAGIA). The target sectors include Smart Cities, Fintech, Cyber Security, AI and IoT.
The plan is to spend 2 days in Jeddah (18-19 November) and 2 days in Riyadh (20-21 November). The programme will include meetings with key industry and governmental stakeholders, including SAGIA, Saudi SME Authority, SABIC and the Ministry of Communications & IT. We will also meet with leading innovation hubs, including King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST), Wadi Makkah Company and King Saud University.
